Turkish manufacturer of polymers of Petkim Company, the controlling shareholder of which is the Azerbaijan of SOCAR, has declared force majeure on ethylene and propylene supplies from its oil complex in Aliaga, according to ICIS.
The company was forced to turn off the cracker in Aliaga due to a technical failure, which occurred on July 17. It is expected that the cracker will be closed milking the end of July.
Closing cracker led to disruptions in the supply of raw materials for the production of derivatives, including acrylonitrile, and ethylene glycol.
