Sadako Spanish company, which is involved in sorting and recycling, waste separation offered to automate the process by using an unusual robot. Robot Wall-B is able to recognize the waste on the basis of artificial intelligence and computer vision. Each robot is able to save 80 tons of CO² shielding gas per year, or 635 barrels of oil.
Waste – a problem of global scale. Only in Europe it is lost each year 7.4 million tons of material, which is estimated at over 1,500 million euros and it is difficult to quantify environmental damage.
Processing of raw materials peaked with current technology and manual labor. The robot is able to sort up to 200 tons of recyclables a year.
Materials that can sort robot Wall-B:
– PET bottles;
– High density polyethylene (HDPE);
– Brick;
– Aluminum cans.
Such a robot can be a great addition to any sorting line, the main purpose of which is to increase the rate of waste removal. You can place as many robots as necessary.
