In Kiev, approved a plan of measures for 2017-2025 in the field of waste management, which, in particular, provides for the reclamation of landfill No. 5, the technical re-equipment of the incineration plant “Energia” for its more ecological work, and the creation of garbage recycling facilities – should from the relevant decision of the Kyiv City Council.

“The decision is the next step on the way to solving the problem with waste in Kiev. It contains both an ideological character and a list of activities directly. I draw your attention to the fact that some of the items that are listed here as promising are already being implemented or implemented, “said the deputy chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Petr Panteleyev, presenting the draft decision at a meeting of the city council.

The official at the same time drew the attention of the deputies to paragraphs 3 and 4 of the decision: “These items are fixed for the tender for the determination of carriers of solid domestic wastes and the first in Ukraine competition to identify organizations that will build capacity and provide waste processing.”

“This is the only mechanism that legislation gives us today for the construction of waste treatment centers. This competition will be held according to the standards, criteria and rules that are currently being introduced by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, international financial corporations, and the European Investment Bank, “the press service of the KSCA said.

According to Panteleev, Kiev undertakes the task of closing and ensuring the reclamation of the landfill No. 5.
