On January 1, 2017 shall come into force a law on the limitation of beer production and sale in plastic containers of more than 1.5 liters.

Under the bill, the production of beer in plastic bottles larger than 1.5 liters terminated on January 1, 2017, and July 1, is prohibited and retail sale of such products.

For the production and sale of alcohol in plastic containers legal persons will be punished with fines ranging from 300 to 500 thousand rubles, officials who violate the ban, will pay from 100 to 200 thousand rubles.

The law was passed by the Parliament in June 2016.
