People’s deputies of the faction “Block Poroshenko” prepared and introduced to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the settlement system for the collection and disposal of used containers, referring to the press service of the political forces.

It is noted that the deputies faction “Block Poroshenko” Irina Lutsenko Sergey Trigubenko Maria Ionov, Ivan Fisher, Gregory Timis, Konstantin Ischeykin and Sergey Valentirov prepared and introduced to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine (with respect to the collection and recycling of used packaging system) “(registration number 5615).

The purpose of the bill is the motivation of economic entities and citizens of Ukraine to the economical use of resources and reduce the volume of debris by implementing the functioning of the container deposit system and to stimulate environmental investments, deputies noted in the explanatory note to the bill.

The authors of the document explained that the bill provides that manufacturers and importers of beverages will have to tag containers for their products deposit labels. The consumer will have to pay the collateral value of the container, and have the right to return the deposit containers at a collection point for the value of the deposit.

“The introduction in Ukraine of the legislative mechanism that will ensure the implementation and operation of used packaging collection system to maximize its recycling and disposal will contribute to sparing use of raw material and energy resources. The result of the introduction of the deposit system should be a significant reduction in environmental pollution and improve the ecological situation in the country, raising the level of public awareness regarding the value of secondary resources, the creation of additional jobs, “- say the authors of the document.

Recall that in Ukraine has accumulated more than 12 million tons of hazardous waste. However, three years authorities do not allocate money for their recycling.
