iThe Chinese company, Lanzhou Petrochemical Company, “daughter” one of the largest petrochemical companies in China, plans in October to resume the operation of the plant for the production of high density polyethylene (HDPE) and low density polyethylene (LDPE) in the province of Gansu (Gansu, China) after prophylaxis, reports ICIS co referring to sources in the company.

Repair work on two plants with capacity of 85 ths. Tons of HDPE per year each began on August 11 and is expected to be completed on 15 October.

In addition, Lanzhou Petrochemical plans to resume production of linear polyethylene (LDL), the capacity of 300 th. Tons per year. Repair work at the plant began on 6 August.

Company October 9 resumed production of high-density polyethylene (LDPE) with a capacity of 200 thous. Tons per year, which was closed on August 11 for renovations.

According to sources, the resumption of production of PE at Lanzhou Petrochemical plants will improve the supply of polyethylene market.

On Oct. 10 the price of LDPE film in east China rose to 11 100-11 400 thousand. Yuan per ton, up 450-500 yuan higher than the price at 30 September.

As reported earlier MRC, the Russian manufacturer of “Gazprom Salavat neftekhim” (SOT) resumed work facilities for the production of HDPE after routine prophylaxis.
