thTrinseo Company (formerly Styron), a major European polystyrene producer (PS), has announced the increase of the May prices for all brands of PC, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (SAN) in Europe, the company said .

The price increase is effective immediately and is consistent with the terms of the current contracts. Thus, the May contract and spot prices of the following brands will be increased as follows:

– To mark STYRON general purpose polystyrene (PSS / M) and the brand STYRON and STYRON-TECH high-impact polystyrene (HIPS / M) – to EUR25 per tonne;
– On the brand MAGNUM ABS – to EUR35 per tonne;
– To mark San TYRIL to EUR20 per tonne.

As reported by the MRC, Trinseo last raised prices on all brands of PS in Europe in April 2016, as indicated below:

– To mark STYRON MSS / M and STYRON brand and STYRON-TECH HIPS / M – at EUR105 per tonne;
– On the brand MAGNUM ABS – at EUR120 per tonne;
– To mark San TYRIL to EUR95 per tonne.

In March 2016 the company raised prices of PS in Europe as follows:

– To mark STYRON MSS / M and STYRON brand and STYRON-TECH HIPS / M – at EUR100 per tonne;
– On the brand MAGNUM ABS – to EUR70 per tonne.

According to the price review ICIS-MRC, in Russia, the lower limit of the spot price of Russian SS grew. Trading companies have raised prices, selling off the remnants of the old and laying in the quotes higher logistics costs in April.
