Styrolution Company, world leader in the production of styrene and styrene plastics, plans to lower the price of polystyrene (PS) for February deliveries to EUR25 per tonne for all grades of polystyrene, according to ICIS.
The company reserves the price difference in the amount of EUR90 per tonne between quotations of high-impact polystyrene (HIPS / M) and general purpose polystyrene (PSS / M).
Despite the expectations of some market players prices decline in February styrene three-digit value, the contract price of styrene in Europe as of February 1 was reduced by EUR50 per metric ton compared to the price in January.
As reported earlier MRC, Styrolution in January increased polystyrene prices for EUR20 per tonne.
After several years of decline, 2015 was the first year of PS rise in prices for the European market. According to the expectations of market players, this trend will continue in 2016, albeit to a lesser degree.
