The American company LyondellBasell Industries (LBI), the world’s largest producer of polyolefins, plans to license its new technology Hyperzone PE, which the company will ispolzovatm at the new plant in La Porte (Texas), according to ICIS quoted General Director for Licensing LyondellBasell technologies Olga del Sinyor (Olga del Signore).

The new HDPE plant will produce 1.1 billion pounds (500 thousand tons of HDPE.) Per year and will be the first commercial venture company that will use the latest patented technology LyondellBasell – Hyperzone PE. The company plans to launch a new plant in 2019.

According to her, the company will use hexene as sonomera. Hyperzone PE technology is a gas-phase process based on a multi-zone circulating reactor LyondellBasell’s technology, the company said. With the new technology it is possible to produce a wide range of high quality multi-modal HDPE grades. Hyperzone PE technology allows the use of smaller PE resin, resulting in monetary savings.

Improved properties of the material produced via Hyperzone PE technology include improved resistance to cracking and improved balance between stiffness and impact resistance.

Earlier it was reported that LyondellBasell in September decided on the site for construction of the plant for the production of HDPE in La Porte (La Porte) in Texas. LBI will supply its own raw materials – ethylene – a new PE plant, as the company in the last few years implementing projects to expand capacity at its cracker in the United States, in particular, in Corpus Christi.

According to the price review ICIS-MRC, in the Russian segment of the IPA noted the greatest excess supply, and it is possible that in the near future, the market situation will not change.
