Consumers of imported polystyrene (PS) and styrene plastics in the CIS expects a significant increase in prices for March shipment.

European PS prices for buyers in the CIS in March, will be raised by EUR80-120 per tonne. Higher prices of polystyrene and styrene plastics importers this week began to sound producers from Europe and Asia, after a significant increase in styrene prices.

Contract styrene prices in Europe in March rose by EUR100 per tonne – up to EUR1 025 per tonne FOB ARA (by ICIS data). Spot styrene prices in Asia have started to rise at the end of February, reaching a value of USD1 030-1 040 FOB Korea.

Today, new prices of EPS production Synthos announced on importers EUR100-120 per ton above the February level. Prices of Chinese expandable polystyrene (EPS-C) this week increased USD20-30 per tonne relative to the price level last Friday.
