The landfill will be closed completely by October 2018.

Kiev city council has decided on issues of concern related to the operation of the landfill of municipal solid waste in the village №5 Podgortsy Obukhov district, Kyiv region. For a decision voted 100 deputies of Kyiv City Council at the meeting on Thursday, 27 October.

Thus, by October 2018 it is planned to completely close the solid waste landfill in Pidhirtsi.
“Question number one -.. Waste disposal in Kiev Waste a lot, compared to other regions only in Kiev for the year generated 1 million 200 tons of municipal solid waste, much of which is exported to the landfill №5, which is located in the village of Pidhirtsi” – said Deputy head of Kyiv city state administration Peter Panteleyev.
He noted that at the site there is a potential threat of man-made emergencies.
As reported of Korrespondent.net, in the Vinnytsia region have detained six truckloads of garbage from the city, who were brought illegally into the territory of the region.
