Prices for pipe grade high density polyethylene (HDPE) in Asia for November delivery are growing against the background of a stable demand in the region, on Friday told ICIS market sources.

This week, spot prices for Black IPA 100 were at USD1 190-1 220 per tonne CFR China and USD1 190-1 230 per ton CFR South East Asia.

In the coming weeks, one of the manufacturers in Southeast Asia, plans to raise their price offers on the back of high prices on the Chinese market.

In China, domestic quotations of the local material continue to grow, supported by steady demand. At the same time offer on the market has decreased due to the fact that one of the Chinese manufacturers of HDPE pipe suddenly closed its capacity due to technical problems.

On the Russian HDPE market according to price review ICIS-MRC, this week the demand is almost completely absent. Some processors said that against the background of the rapid decline in prices forced to suspend all of its purchases of polyethylene (PE) until November. Some refiners switched to weekly purchases, thereby minimizing their risks. At the same time stocks are not formed in the mind of excess supply in the market PE.
