The March contract price of propylene in Europe was agreed at EUR25 per tonne lower than the level of February. Nevertheless, European producers reduced export prices only for copolymers of propylene for supplies to the markets of the CIS countries in March, according to the ICIS-MRC Price Review.Negotiations on the March level of prices of the European PP began on Monday. All market participants state the ambiguity of decisions on export prices for polymer in March, while propylene has fallen in price in Europe. In fact, the prices of homopolymers of propylene (PP homo) were actually extended or increased relative to February, while in the segment of copolymers of propylene there was a decrease in prices for EUR20-25 per ton.
Transactions with respect to March supplies of PP homo are in the range EUR1,060-1,145 per tonne, FCA, while deals for February shipment were agreed in the range EUR1,030-1,140 per tonne, FCA. Export quotas of injection molding PP-homo are limited for some manufacturers.
Transactions for the supply of propylene block copolymers (PP block) are agreed in the EUR1 range 195-1 250 per tonne, FCA, which is EUR 20-25 per tonne lower than the level of February.
