Research is being conducted to ascertain the suitability of the product processing mixed plastic waste for the replacement of heavy fuels for industrial and marine engines.
Research will result in a conclusion as to whether the fuel “Plaks» (Plaxx) be used instead of fuel oil in marine engines without increased wear and power loss. These engines are installed on ships, such as tankers, ferries and other large ships.
The study is funded by Innovate UK and the Research Council of Engineering and Physical Sciences with the participation of Recycling Technologies, developer “Plaks.”
