Braskem developed high strength to the melt polypropylene (HMS-PP), which can be used for the production of foams intended for special packaging, automotive and industrial applications. Polypropylene HMS-PP has received exceptional acclaim from customers using the product.
This material is used in extruded foams wide density range by using different types of blowing agents. Features Braskem HMS-PP, along with the inherent temperature resistance and high performance polypropylene, make this product an excellent choice for extruding foamed polymers by direct injection (DI).
Made of HMS-PP products have excellent recyclability which makes this a potential substitute material cross-linked polyethylene, PVC and polyurethane. This will provide customers with more sustainable solutions and alternatives to some less environmentally friendly foam products. Braskem sees his HMS material for use in thermoforming, compounding or deep drawing, wherein the melt strength of PP can expand window characteristics.
“Our new HMS-PP offers a unique balance of performance and mechanical properties, including a very high stiffness and heat resistance. We look forward to working with customers to demonstrate these qualities “, – said Alexander Elias, vice president of Braskem America.
