Three polystyrene producer (PS) in North America, announced price increases from September 1 this year, ICIS reported with reference to an e-mail to your customers.

So, Ineos Styrolution, “daughter” of large European producer of petrochemical products by Ineos, said that raises the prices of all brands of PS 3 cents per pound (USD0,067 per kg or USD67 per tonne) due to increased costs associated with the production and supply material.

Also, Total Petrochemicals and increases the prices of all brands of PS by the same amount in the current month. In addition, the company said in a letter to customers that receive orders for the products and the date of shipment will be carried out in accordance with the availability of material.

And the third manufacturer of PS in North America – the Mexican Resirene- also announced an increase in the price of the PS value indicated above in connection with the current dynamics of economic development and the availability of raw material – styrene – on the market.

As reported by the MRC, Ineos Styrolution also announced to customers in Europe to raise September prices for all brands of PS at EUR20 per tonne. The company retains the difference in the price of high-impact polystyrene (HIPS / M) in the above EUR90 per ton, compared with the price of general purpose polystyrene (PSS / M).

Meanwhile, according to the price review ICIS-MRC, polystyrene prices again falling on the Russian market. According to market players, the Russian producers have gone on lowering prices amid high stock balance and lower the price of styrene monomer in September on the foreign markets.
