Sellers pipe grades of high density polyethylene (HDPE) in Europe refused intention to raise the price of the material in June, sources told ICIS market.
The June ethylene prices in Europe were agreed at EUR25 per tonne higher than in May, due to which some vendors were going to move the suitable increase in polyethylene prices (PE) in the current month, but it soon became clear that not all sellers are intended to raise prices.
“In general, the demand is not so high, and the offer is quite good,” – said one of the major buyers.
However, one of the producers said that the demand in line with expectations, but is not at a very high level.
Buyers have stocks of the material, and many of them are currently working on these stocks, because they do not expect in the near future price increases.
According to the price review ICIS-MRC, the Russian market PND Russian manufacturers managed to balance supply and demand in some segments of the processing of this week. The price situation on the PE market remained unchanged with a few exceptions.
