In Ukraine, there is no plant for deep processing of waste. For example, in neighboring Poland there are as many as 150 such plants.
This was stated by the mayor of Lviv, Andrei Sadovy in his video message.
“We have ambitions to build a high-quality modern plant. Here our partner is the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The bank invests 25 million euros, and another 10 million is given by the European Fund. This money goes to the construction of the plant and to the recultivation of the landfill,” said Sadovy.
According to him, the first stage of the tender took place, 12 world companies from 11 countries of the world went.
“We received the final decision of the bank to narrow down this letter to 5 companies that passed to the second round. These are companies that have the greatest experience in building such plants in different countries of the world, not just building, but operating such plants,” said the mayor of Lviv.
Why not Ukrainian companies? But because there is not a single plant in Ukraine and not a single Ukrainian company has built such plants,
– said Garden.
He added that such a trigger for the construction of the plant was the garbage blockade through which we passed. In 2016, we set the test site on fire and then wanted to bring the city to its knees, but the firm position of all citizens of our country, as well as the international community, enabled us to survive.
“Now we have ambitions to build a high-quality modern plant. Therefore, I invite everyone who wants to go through our road, we will tell you how the negotiation process took place, how we reached the current result, because the preparatory stage is very long,” the politician emphasized.
