The framework draft law “On waste management” goes through the final stages of coordination and by February 2019 should be sent for approval to the Ministry of Justice for legal expertise.

This is what Slovo I Delo writes, following the promise of the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ostap Semerak, who said that in 2018, the basic bill on waste, which will adapt the European waste directive to Ukrainian legislation, will be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Recall, February 22, 2018, the Minister said that work has begun on a new legislative framework. Total should have developed 10 bills.

“One – it will be a framework framework on waste, which will adapt, or implement the European waste directive with the Ukrainian legislation. And nine bills that will regulate and create new conditions for work in nine sectors of different types of waste, ”said Semerak.

Later, on October 31, the press service of the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources reported that a basic draft law on waste and nine sectoral draft laws had already been created. After coordination with other relevant ministries, the procedure for submitting bills to the Rada will be initiated.

And on December 3, 2018, the press service of the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources reported that the last day for submitting proposals and comments to the draft law “On Waste Management” was December 8.

But, on December 27, it became known that the framework draft law “On Waste Management” was undergoing the final stages of coordination and would be submitted for consideration and approval by the Cabinet of Ministers not earlier than February 2019.
