PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a transparent, light and strong polymer belonging to the group of polyesters. PET is widely used in non-food production, for example, for the packaging of household chemicals, textiles and other consumer goods. However, the main field of application of PET remains food packaging: 66% of the polymer is used for the production of beverage containers and 8% for the production of food containers.
The undeniable advantages of PET packaging include ease of storage, transportation, washing and capping. PET packaging has excellent transparency, resistance to damage, strength, and excellent barrier properties (that is, it preserves the properties of the packaged product due to low water permeability and chemical resistance to oxygen, carbon dioxide and water). PET is easy to process and allows you to realize almost any design idea. In view of its ease, PET packaging can be efficiently stored and transported at the lowest fuel cost, thus reducing the formation of greenhouse gases. The use of PET packaging has a number of advantages in terms of environmental protection, too. It is subject to processing by incineration with the subsequent release of energy.
“Ampaset Europe” has launched five new masterbatch for PET:
The new black PET masterbatch 7900007-E is a high-quality product with excellent coloring ability and premium black color combined with all the advantages of PET. The product is designed for use in injection molding processes with blowing and orienting, classical injection molding and sheet extrusion.
The new white PET masterbatch 712072-EPT (60% TiO2), 713669-E (65% TiO2) and 713672-E (70% TiO2) are specially developed for blow molding processes with blowing and orienting, classical injection molding and sheet extrusion. These are high-quality products with excellent coloring power and premium white color at a dosage of 1-3%, depending on the processing method.
New UV barrier for polyesters from Ampaset company 7000004-E allows to provide reliable protection against UV radiation. Even at a dosage of 0.25%, the product 7000004-E protects the packaged goods from the harmful effects of UV radiation while preserving the optical properties of the packaging in the visible spectral range. Product 7000004-E is designed for use in molding processes and can be used for a wide range of colored and unpainted containers (for example, for household chemicals, personal care products, industrial materials). An important distinctive feature of the new product is the excellent compatibility and most of the PET brands available on the market, as well as the absence of influence on the optical properties and color of the final product.
