“Nizhnekamskneftekhim” has asked the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation with an application for restoration of the import duty on linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), which is used for the production of stretch-film.

A fee of 6.5% was temporarily excluded in 2010 due to the fact that in Russia at that time there was no production of this type of polyethylene, so that processors were forced to their need for raw materials to meet the expense of imports.

But now, with the launch of the production of linear polyethylene in PJSC “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”, the situation has changed. The company is able to fully meet the needs of processors and RF linear polyethylene, thus, contribute significantly to the performance of the import substitution program announced by the Government.
Potential production capacity of linear polyethylene in “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” of up to 200 ths. Tons per year, but output at full capacity prevents policy undercharge suppliers of imported analogues, which can be eliminated only in the reduction of import duty.

Uncontrolled active work of foreign companies makes PJSC “Nizhnekamskneftekhim” to produce linear polyethylene periodically and only during periods of high demand, stress in the company.

Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Commission intends to until April 20 to collect all the necessary documents and confirmation of stakeholders the feasibility of increasing the rate of import duties on LLDPE.
