In Ukraine, waste collection was normalized using underground and vacuum systems. Relevant state building codes have already entered into force. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Lev Partskhaladze.

According to him, such methods will contribute to the separate collection of waste and improve the environmental situation in human settlements.

“Today in Ukraine it is very important to use more modern solutions and technologies for garbage collection in settlements. After all, the garbage problem is becoming more acute in our country every year. Therefore, this issue has been rationalized in new urban planning GOS – the use of underground and vacuum garbage collection systems has been introduced Now such systems will begin to spread in Ukraine, ”said Panzhalazde.

According to him, such systems successfully operate in many European countries, in particular, in Sweden, Austria, and Norway.

“This will contribute to the improvement of the ecological condition, as well as the appearance of the streets of our cities. But in Ukraine it is necessary not only to introduce new technologies for collecting garbage, but also, in general, to change the attitude of people to this problem, because if every person litters at every step, then no modern system will help. We also need to change, become more conscious, take a responsible attitude to such things as people in European and other civilized countries do, “- emphasized the Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing of Ukraine Lev Partskhaladze.

According to him, the underground method of collecting waste is a safer, hygienic and aesthetic method of collecting waste in human settlements. A vacuum or as it is also called the pneumatic method of collecting household waste can be used in residential buildings and is a civilized replacement of garbage disposal.

According to the GOS, the distance from the windows of residential and public buildings, near which land-based garbage collection sites can be designed, should be at least 20 m, for underground and vacuum sites, according to their town planning and technical conditions. At the same time, the module of the underground and vacuum method can increase the volume of accumulated household waste in 5-10 m3, respectively, if this does not contradict the technical conditions, Partskhaladze said.
