The largest petrochemical plant in Ukraine, Karpatneftekhim (Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region), from April 20 to 27 prepared installations for the production of ethylene to summer peak loads, the company’s press service reported.

Carpatneftekhim, in particular, conducted a hydrotreatment of the heat exchangers of the installation, checking the state of the pyrogas compressor.

“The time for the work was planned in advance, since it is during the summer period when the unit is operating at full loads that unforeseen situations in the operation of the equipment may arise,” the press service noted.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine (MEDT), by the end of February 2018, Karpatneftekhim has achieved an 80% load of production capacity. Delivers products to the domestic market, and also exports to Turkey, India, Eastern Europe.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine (MEDT) calls Karpatneftekhim the main driver of production growth in the chemical industry of Ukraine (in April this indicator was + 39.4%).

Earlier it was reported that on June 9, 2017, Karpatneftekhim resumed its work after five years of downtime.

In February 2017, Lukoil completed a deal to sell a 100% stake in LUKOIL Chemical B.V. (Netherlands), which belongs to Karpatneftekhim. Techinservice Limited bought from Lukoil up to 50% of the Karpatneftekhim. The amount of the entire transaction was USD25 million. The second indirect owner of over 50% in LLC “Karpatneftekhim” through the Cyprus Xedrian Holding Ltd was Lukoil manager in Ukraine Ilham Mammadov.

Karpatneftekhim is one of the largest enterprises of the petrochemical complex in Ukraine. At present, the company is capable of producing 300,000 tons of polyvinyl chloride annually, 200,000 tons of caustic soda, about 180,000 tons of chlorine, and 250,000 tons of ethylene and 100,000 tons of polyethylene.
