vtorichnye-polimeryThe June contract price of ethylene in Europe was agreed at EUR25 per tonne higher than the level in May. However, European manufacturers of polyethylene (PE) went to lower export prices for polymer markets of the CIS countries, according to a price review ICIS-MRC.

Negotiations on the European export prices of PE began earlier this month, many market participants have concluded a further (second consecutive month) decline in export prices for European producers, despite the increase in the cost of ethylene. In June, in some cases, the decline in prices amounted to EUR70 per tonne.

Transactions for June shipment of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) concluded in the range of EUR 1 140-1 220 per tonne, FCA, while the transactions were concluded in May EUR1 210-1 280 per tonne range, FCA. Restrictions in the IPA supply of the majority of producers are not mentioned.

Transactions regarding the June shipments of high-density polyethylene (LDPE) consisted of a range of EUR 1 230 – 1 300 per tonne, FCA, while a month earlier transaction for the supply of this type of PE were consistent in the range of EUR 1 260-1 320 per tonne, FCA.
