The September contract price of propylene in Europe was agreed at EUR10 per tonne higher than August. Nevertheless, not all European producers announced a proportional increase in the export prices of polypropylene (PP) for supplies to the markets of the CIS countries in September, according to the Price Review of ICIS-MRС.
Negotiations on the September level of prices for the European PP began last week. All market participants note the desire of a number of producers to increase the export prices of propylene polymers in proportion to the growth of the monomer’s price for supplies in the current month. Some companies reported that in some cases they managed to prolong the August prices.
Transactions regarding the September PP-homo deliveries were coordinated in the EUR1 165-1 240 per tonne, FCA range, whereas the month before deals were concluded in the EUR1 165-1 240 per ton, FCA range. Transactions on deliveries of block copolymers of propylene (PP block) were in the range EUR1,240-1,310 per tonne, FCA.
As some companies reported, a part of producers retained export restrictions since August due to preventive downtime of capacities.
