The European Bank plans to allocate half a billion hryvnia to solve the problem with Lviv garbage. Funds from the European Bank of Lviv will receive on condition of co-financing from other international organizations. Cooperation can be agreed in the third quarter of 2017. This was reported by EBRD Senior Advisor in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus Anton Usov on his Facebook page, writes Gazeta.ua. These 20 million euros, which the European Bank is ready to allocate for the European Bank of Europe, will be directed to the construction of a sorting station, the first stage of reconstruction of the Gribovichsky test site and the first stage of construction of a compost plant.

Recall that in May 2016, the biggest dump in Ukraine in the village of Bolshie Gribovichi was a fire. After that, garbage was not brought to this dump, so waste from Lviv was transported to other regions of Ukraine.

Previously, Inform-UA reported that the garbage problem in Lviv went beyond the borders of our country, as even the British newspaper The Guardian wrote about the acute problem of the city. A charming city in the west of Ukraine, Lviv has gained a good reputation with its strict beauty of the Habsburg era and bright coffee houses.

Recently, however, he became known for quite another: the mountains of garbage – said in the article. After many months, the crisis is drawing to a close, thanks to the recent agreement between the regional and local authorities, the author notes.
