Recycling packaging and use it as a secondary raw material for the production of building materials, industrial products and various parts in Europe will reduce the volume of waste and save resources. At the same time many manufacturers and consumers of packaging in Ukraine, it is still perceived as a waste.
Such an opinion was expressed by the head of the “Ukrplastic” Irina Miroschnik, speaking at a meeting of the Committee on Sustainable Development EAFA / FPE (European Association of manufacturers of aluminum foil / European Association of flexible packaging manufacturers) in Dusseldorf, the press service of the company.
During the meeting, the European manufacturers of packaging industry discussed the strategy for sustainable development of enterprises of the packaging industry. According to participants, the use of flexible packaging increases the efficiency of resource utilization and reduce costs, prevent waste generation. Globally, the widespread use of flexible packaging solves the food problem in the world. In addition, such packaging plays a vital role in the formation of “closed-loop economy.”
Speaking to European colleagues, Irina Miroschnik, president of the Ukrainian Association of flexible packaging, President of “Save Food Ukraine” focused attention on the fact that the representatives of the packaging industry take an active role in resolving this issue.

According to her, it is necessary to change consumer attitudes to packaging. “We need to change the stereotypes of people with respect to resources.
