One of the most common and sought-after polymers in the world is high-density polyethylene, which has a high density. It is abbreviated as HDPE, HDPE, HDPE or HDPE. For the production of secondary HDPE, pipes, plastic bags, plastic bottles, boxes and other polymer products made from this material are used. The company “Polimers” from Krivoy Rog is engaged in the processing of HDPE and sells high-quality secondary high-density polyethylene in granules.

Properties and characteristics of HDPE polyethylene

HDPE polyethylene is a durable polymeric material with a linear macromolecule. It is made by polymerizing ethylene with catalyst systems (organic solvents), at low pressure. As a result, areas of crystallinity are formed in its structure, which gives this polymer special physical properties, including:

high density of 0.96 g / cm3;
stiffness and hardness;
thermal plasticity;
chemical resistance to many aggressive media;
frost resistance;
steam and water resistant;
tensile strength and impact load;
good dielectric properties.

The HDPE polymer material softens at a temperature of +120 degrees, melts at + 130 ° C, and at –70 ° C becomes brittle and brittle. It is produced in the form of granules with a low degree of transparency, with a fraction of 2 to 5 mm.

The secondary material HDPE has all the properties of the primary HDPE, including environmental and health safety, but at the same time has a lower cost.

Production technology of secondary low-pressure polyethylene

Processing HDPE waste is carried out by casting, extrusion and blowing. The whole technological cycle consists of the following, successively performed stages of work:

sorting involving the separation of raw materials by quality, type, level of pollution and color;

crushing waste into particles of the same size, for which special equipment is used;

washing the crushed material and cleaning it from dust and impurities of non-polyethylene inclusions;

agglomeration of recycled materials in machines with a rotating rotor, where it turns into a kasp-like mass;

melting the resulting mass with the addition of water, while the melt, sharply cooled, is converted into small-sized balls of irregular shape;

extrusion, which consists in melting the obtained balls in an extruder, and pushing them through the forming hole. The strands of softened material coming out of the extruder are cooled with water and cut into pieces, called secondary HDPE granules.

The secondary low-pressure polyethylene obtained by this technology is sorted, packaged in bags and is a semi-finished product for the production of various polymer products.

Applications of recycled HDPE

The ideal performance properties of low-pressure polyethylene have led to its use in a wide variety of industries. From this material is made:

pipes for water, gas and highways transporting chemical products and corrosive media;

insulation for electrical cables;
protective helmets;
filaments for 3D printing players;
shoe pads;
fuel tanks;
corrosion-resistant coating for steel pipes;
various details of swimming pools;
plastic bottles and caps to them;
tables and chairs;
food containers;
paper substitutes and other products.

It is possible to buy PND granules at a favorable price from the manufacturer in Krivoy Rog, in our company Polimers LLC. We are the largest in Ukraine recycler of secondary polymers, we produce high quality products with the desired characteristics.
