Manufacturers of low-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe brands in the Middle East left unchanged the March price proposals for the April supplies of the material, which is an acceptable price level for processors against the background of limited supply in the region, ICIS sources told the market.

Several producers in the Gulf countries (GCC) offered black pipe HDPE for April shipments in the range of USD1,300-1,320 DEL GCC and USD1,340-1,350 per tonne, DEL of the Mediterranean.

“Purchasing activity is good, as the processors of the material stocks are at a low level,” said one of the traders in the region.

It is expected that consumers will purchase small amounts of material to cover current needs.

The level of price offers will still be reviewed in the countries of the Middle East, as buyers are still hoping to receive material at prices USD1,280-1,300, DEL of the Mediterranean countries.

According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, in the Russian market of the HDPE last week, buying activity increased, local companies against the background of expectations of collapse in April with automobile transportation began to form additional stocks. At the same time, due to limited working capital, processors are not able to fully meet their April needs for PE. The demand for film and tubular HDPE has grown.
