Ecologists follow the North Sea The North Sea has heated up over the past half century, which leads to irreparable consequences. Environmentalists felt that the sea for 45 years warmed by 1.67 degrees, writes DW. At the same time, scientists note that the oceans on average have only warmed by 0.74 degrees. According to estimates, by 2100 the sea can still heat up to 1.7-3.2 degrees. Such climate change threatens to destroy the ecosystem. Many kinds are put under attack, which are sensitive to temperature changes. Thus, in the North Sea, in particular, the cod population declined. But the number of fish that usually live in southern waters increases. The North Sea is washed by the shores of Norway, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Great Britain.
