LLC Stavrolen plans to start the production of polyethylene PE 100, this was announced on March 21 during the conference “Polyethylene. Polypropylene 2017 “, organized by INVENTRA.

The senior technology manager of Lukoil, Oksana Borisova, said that in March 2018 Stavrolen plans to start producing PE 100. Most likely, it will be natural, rather than polyethylene filled. Concerning polypropylene, most Russian manufacturers have the technological capabilities to produce block copolymers and statispimers, but often this is not financially profitable due to high production costs and the use of exclusively imported additives.

Recall that in September last year the company presented an investment project for the reconstruction of the production of polyethylene, which provides for the renewal of the reactor line, which will allow the production of new PE brands. The project has already been launched. The reconstruction of the line is planned to be carried out without stopping the existing production. Work must be completed by the end of 2017. The cost of the project is approximately 4.5 billion rubles.

Stavrolen LLC is one of the leading enterprises of the chemical industry in Russia. The enterprise produces the following main products: Low-density polyethylene (HDPE), synthesized according to the UNIPOL technology (brand range of polyethylene (HDPE) varies depending on market conditions and has more than 30 brands), more than 20 grades of polypropylene (PP), propylene, benzene oil , Vinyl acetate, butylene-butadiene fraction, heavy oil resins and others. According to Polyglobe PIE data, at the beginning of 2017, Stavrolen’s production capacity was 350,000 tons of ethylene per year, 300,000 tons of low-pressure polyethylene (HDPE) per year, 140,000 tons of propylene per year, 130,000 tons of benzene per year, Tons of polypropylene (PP) per year, 60 thousand tons of vinyl acetate per year.
