The Polyplastic Group, the largest producer of polymer piping systems in Russia, has launched the production of a new type of pipe – Multiterm, the company said.

Pressure pipes made of high temperature PE-RT type II polyethylene, designed for transporting water and other liquids at temperatures up to 80 ° C. Produced according to TU 2248-053-73011750-2016, the range of diameters is from 16 to 1600 mm, working pressure is up to 1.0 MPa.

The field of application of multi-thermal pipes is industrial networks of recycled water supply and sewerage, technological pipelines, oil collection systems, etc. – segments in which the corrosiveness of media transported at elevated temperatures does not allow the use of traditional steel pipes. In this case, the new pipes have all the advantages of polyethylene pipes – corrosion resistance, flexibility, durability and processability of installation. Pipe welding from PE-RT is carried out using standard equipment according to standard procedures.

The first major consumer of new products was the company Tengizchevroil, the largest oil producer in Kazakhstan, a joint venture with the participation of oil companies Chevron and Exxon Mobil. The delivery was carried out in cooperation with the Atyrauz plant of polyethylene pipes and TD of Atystan STZ. Within the framework of this project in 2017, Klimovsk Pipe Plant produced about 10 km of Multi-Thermal pipes of large diameters (630-1000 mm) for the construction of technological pipelines of the second stage of the oil refining complex. The working temperature of the transported solutions is up to 80 ° C, the pressure is 6-8 bar. The most important factors behind the selection of PE-RT pipes were the absence of corrosion and overgrown pipelines, as well as the processability of the installation, which made it possible to shorten construction time.

Taking into account the specifics of welding work at the site, connected with pipe diameters and a new type of material, the specialists of the Polyplastic Group traveled to Atyrau to train welders involved in construction and installation works.

Earlier it was reported that in 2016 Polyplastic launched production in the Khabarovsk Territory, introduced three lines for the production of corrugated pipes at Sibgazapparat, increased the capacity for the production of a smooth pipe by more than 10,000 tons per year at the Omsk Pipe Insulation Plant. At the enterprise “Yugtrubplast” by the end of the year the line for the production of pressure pipes was launched.

The Polyplastic Group is the largest producer of polymer piping systems in the CIS for outdoor water supply and sewage networks, gas distribution, domestic hot water and heating. The Group comprises 15 leading enterprises of the pipe polymer industry located in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan with a total capacity of about 300,000 tons of products per year, more than 15 trading houses, research and design institutes, and its Training Center. The Group’s products are exported to more than 50 countries around the world. The Group’s annual turnover is about EUR1 billion. The Group’s head office is located in Moscow.
