Trinseo (formerly Styron), a major European producer of polystyrene (PS), announced an increase in December prices for all grades of PS, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) and polycarbonate (PC) in Europe, company’s message.

The increase in prices entered into force on December 1, 2017 and is consistent with the terms of the current contracts. Thus, the company’s December contract and spot prices for the following brands were raised as follows:

– for STYRON brand of polystyrene for general use (PSS / M) – for EUR95 per ton;
– for STYRON and STYRON-TECH brand of high-impact polystyrene (UPS / M) – by EUR95 per ton;
– brand MAGNUM ABS – at EUR60 per ton;
– for the brand TYRIL SAN – at EUR85 per ton.

As reported by the Market Report company, Trinseo last time raised the prices for all brands of PS and SAN in the European market on September 1, 2017, as indicated below:

– for the STYRON PSS / M brand – at EUR210 per tonne;
– for STYRON and STYRON-TECH brands – for EUR210 per tonne;
– brand MAGNUM ABS – at EUR140 per ton;
– to the brand TYRIL SAN – at EUR160 per ton.

According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, the prices of Russian UPS / M and MSS / M remain stable in early December, despite a significant increase in prices of styrene monomer and an expected rise in prices for PS in foreign markets.
