According to the report, the unique characteristics of the new coloristic pigment expand the boundaries of space and color effects for a wide range of colored plastic and provide additional “flexibility” in the formulation. We are talking in particular about giving brightness paint coatings, which are applied to plastics produced by the process of injection molding.

Product Lumina Royal Dragon Gold complements the previously launched in production and already in high demand line of colorful pigments Lumina Royal, which includes color shades of Aqua (color “pure water”), Blue (blue), Indigo (color indigo), Magenta (Magenta ) and copper (copper-colored).

As reported by the MRC, BASF plans to invest about EUR10 million in building capacities for the production of pigments with effects of Paliocrom line at the industrial complex in Ludwigshafen (Germany). The increase of the production volume will be more than 20% by 2017, which will allow BASF to respond to the increasing demand from automakers in the aluminum-containing pigments, pearlescent coatings giving, “sparkling” and other effects.

In addition, in 2014, BASF has expanded its range of resins, functional additives, pigments and pigment concentrates with the addition of innovative environmentally friendly solutions for Russian and Eastern European markets. In particular, BASF has developed a new UV-curable aqueous dispersions based on polyester acrylates aminomodifitsirovannyh Laromer series, which are designed for use in furniture and automotive industries, where the paint is applied by spraying. Due to its low viscosity and high reactivity of these resins make an important contribution to the creation of an optimum coating viscosity at high cure rate.

And before that, in 2013, SIBUR, one of the largest producers of petrochemicals in Russia, and BASF, in September 2013, signed a memorandum on supply of additives for polymeric materials in the Russian venture company. Under the terms of the memorandum, of BASF will supply SIBUR additives for polypropylene, polyethylene, synthetic rubber, thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), ABS plastics, improving the quality of end products.
