The Russian division of packaging and specialty plastics company Dow Chemical Company plans to supply the Russian market with the polyethylene joint venture between Dow and Saudi Arabian Oil Company (SAO) Sadara plant, the company said at a press conference during the exhibition “Interplastica 2016”.
Sadara plant is the world’s largest integrated chemical enterprise for the production of polyolefins, which consists of 26 factories and built in one stage.
Four new production Sadara portion will produce 1.3 million metric tons of ethylene polymers, high and low density elastomers: linear low density polyethylene DOWLEX TM (LDL); Superior linear polyethylene brand ELITE TM (mLPNP); low density polyethylene (LDPE); high density polyethylene for injection molding (IPA); polyethylene grade CEFOR TM; polyolefin elastomers brand AFFINITY TM; polyolefin elastomers brand ENGAGE TM.
Sadara Petrochemical complex will serve the Asia-Pacific region, Central and Eastern Europe, including Russia, Turkey, Middle East and Africa.
As reported by the MRC earlier, net profit Dow Chemical in 2015 was USD7,78 billion, an increase of nearly doubled thanks to the sale of assets in the fourth quarter. The volume of the company’s revenue in 2015 decreased by 16% to USD48,8 billion. Basic earnings per share, Dow Chemical (EPS) last year soared to USD6,45 USD2,91 compared to 2014.
In December 2015, Dow Chemical announced a merger with the American chemical company DuPont, which will be completed in the second half of 2016.
