On April 7, the head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, at a meeting with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the development of the situation with coronavirus infection and measures for its prevention, spoke about the current production of personal protective equipment. According to him, at the moment, Russian enterprises produce almost 1.6 million medical masks that can be used in medical institutions. In addition, gauze masks that have a registration medical certificate are sewn off. Roughly in the 20s of April, the daily rate for the production of masks should be approximately 2.1 million units.
In addition, almost all regions, by attracting micro and small enterprises from various types of nonwoven materials, reached a production volume of almost 2.4 million per day.
Also, to meet the demand for PPE, 51 million masks were purchased in China – they have already been delivered to the regions. Another 21 million masks will arrive from Shanghai within 24 hours. The same work is carried out on suits like “tyvek”. In total, nearly 250 thousand units were imported, and a contract for another 1,050 million units was signed.
The head of the department drew attention to the shortage of protective medical suits. To date, no more than 6 thousand such products are produced. At the same time, the Minister announced the possibility of increasing production to 25 thousand products.
“Glasses are also part of the protective suit. Today, in terms of production, from 4.5 they have already reached 12 thousand per day, and by mid-April we will reach almost 22 thousand per day. The same work is done on respirators. We count on 20 thousand respirators per day, ”said Denis Manturov.
In addition, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia announced plans to increase the monthly output of mechanical ventilation devices to 1,500 units.
Speaking about drugs, Denis Manturov noted that most of the drugs recommended by the Ministry of Health for the treatment of COVID-19 coronavirus are produced in Russia in a full cycle.
