One of the most pressing environmental problems in Ukraine is the management of municipal solid waste (MSW). Solid waste landfill is an engineering structure designed for the disposal of solid waste, which should prevent a negative impact on the environment and comply with sanitary, epidemiological and environmental standards. The construction of landfills, complying with environmentally friendly requirements, and the registration of land plots for them in accordance with the current legislation is an extremely topical issue, especially in recreational areas.

Technological imperfection of the arrangement of landfills leads to pollution of surface and groundwater, creates the threat of deterioration of the ecological, sanitary-epidemiological state and public health, degradation of recreational resources. The ecological situation is complicated by the fact that for a long time problems in the field of waste management are not solved, primarily because of the large volumes of their annual formation, low level of utilization and accumulation.

Continuing the construction of a solid household waste landfill will allow solving a number of important problems of the environmental rehabilitation of the city of Novograd-Volynsky and nearby villages, and will make potential investors interested in investing in the construction of related industries.

The purpose of the construction of a solid household waste landfill is to improve the state of the region’s natural environment, reduce pollution, reduce the number of unauthorized dumps in the city of Novograd-Volynsky and surrounding areas, as well as provide high-quality solid waste disposal services.

The landfill is designed for warehousing, disinfection of solid household waste from residential and public buildings, institutions, trading enterprises and public catering, as well as street, landscape gardening, construction waste and some similar in its composition to MSW industrial waste of III-IV hazard classes with permission local authorities of sanitary-epidemiological and environmental services and fire inspection.
