Spot prices of high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE) in the European market continued to go down last week amid a surplus supply of material on the market, ICIS reported.
LDPE prices on the market are also still in a wide price range around the mark of EUR1,100 per tonne, FD NWE (North-Western Europe). So, counter offers are below this level, and sales of some popular brands reach EUR1,150 per ton.
Quotations of some imported brands of material are falling below the level of EUR1,100 per ton, but counterproposals, as a rule, at the level of EUR1,050 per ton, were rejected by the sellers.
According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, the lack of supply in the Russian LDP market due to stoppages for the prevention of a number of capacities. Also, the prices of polyethylene are growing, but there is no agiotage in this regard. The processors react calmly enough to the current situation.
