The prices of black pipe polyethylene (PE 100) in Asia remain at a high level on the back of high demand and limited supply, ICIS reports citing sources in the market.

The supply of the material remains limited due to the growing demand in the market in China and South-East Asia. According to market participants, it is expected that high demand will continue until September-October, as in previous years.

During the week, market participants actively signed deals and negotiated deliveries of July from the Middle East and August deliveries from Asia.

The prices of black pipe PE 100 this week were in the range of USD1280-1320 per ton, CFR China and USD1270-1290 per ton, CFR of southeast Asia.

According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, in the current week in Russia, individual trading companies restricted the sale of natural PE100, following the results of the week there was a rise in prices. A limited offer of this PE will be available throughout July. The lack of supply of natural PE100 on the market did not lead to an increase in demand for black PE100. Because of the big difference in price, many processors are slow to reorient themselves to a more expensive PE.
