Two trucks with environmentally hazardous waste were found by the police inspector on the territory of the former children’s camp in the village of Zavalovka in the Kyiv region.

In the village of Zavalovka in the Kiev region illegally unloaded garbage was found from Lviv. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kiev region.
Two trucks with environmentally hazardous waste were found by the police inspector on the territory of the former children’s camp.
“It turned out that both drivers are from the Lviv region.” One of them already managed to unload the garbage, “the report said.
Criminal proceedings were opened in accordance with Part 1 of Art. 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal seizure of the surface layer of land, if this created a danger to life, human health or the environment).
The collapse of the garbage recycling system in Lviv began after a fire in a dump in the village of Velikikh Gribovichi, Zhovkovskiy district, Lviv region on May 30, 2016. June 2, the village council of Great Gribovichi decided to close the dump for good.
On April 21, the leaders of Lviv, Lviv region and mayors of 20 cities of the region signed a memorandum on cooperation on the reception of Lviv garbage on their landfills. Under the terms of the memorandum, garbage from Lvov will be exported and disposed of at landfills of the city’s cities for two years, while Lviv City Council will make a final system decision regarding the way of further utilization of solid domestic waste.
As of May 12, only three cities in the region agreed to take garbage from Lviv, the press service of the city council reported. According to the mayor of the city Andrey Sadovoy, garbage was not taken out of 390 container sites of the city (there are only 1237 of them).
