“NPP Polyplastic, the largest Russian manufacturer of thermoplastic composite materials, is testing the pilot batch of three brands of block copolymers of the largest international concern Borouge, the company said.

Test works are at the final stage.

“The search for alternative suppliers makes it possible to ensure the reliability of raw materials, as well as reduce the cost of the product” – noted in the supply department of NPP Polyplastic.

Concern Borouge is a leading provider of innovative solutions for the creation of plastics in the world. The production capacity of the plant is 8 million tons of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP).

The report says that in addition to the more attractive commercial conditions that the company offers, cooperation has great potential in terms of expanding the capabilities of the Russian company, as Borouge offers the most advanced developments as a supplier of raw materials for compounding.

As previously reported by the Market Report, “Polyplastic” in January 2017 signed an agreement on cooperation with the world’s largest production chemical concern BASF.

In addition, “NPP Polyplastic” plans in 2017 to begin exporting composites to Europe.

Borouge is a joint venture between Abu Dhabi National Oil Co (ADNOC) and the world’s petrochemical giant Borealis. The Austrian oil and gas group OMV has a 36% stake in this project. The total capacity of the Borouge complex in Ruweis for the production of PP is 1.76 million tonnes per year.

OOO NPP Polyplastic is part of the Polyplastic Group, Russia’s largest plastics processor and producer of pipes and fittings for gas and water distribution networks. The company specializes in the production of thermoplastic composite materials for processing by injection molding, blow molding and extrusion.
