“Defending the rights and legitimate interests of citizens of Ukraine, referring to the Ukrainian Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman Borisovich exposing these shortcomings of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (hereinafter – the Ministry of Natural Resources):

1) does not support programs developed and funding of environmental NGOs projects;

2) not entered a comprehensive approach to the prevention of natural disasters and minimizing their consequences;

3) not defined the basic principles of state policy on adaptation to climate change;

4) does not provide storage for 70% of household waste cities with a population of 250 thousand people in the specialized and environmentally sound landfill;

5) are turned out is not the methodology for determining the degree of environmental risks, in particular due to industrial activity environmentally hazardous facilities;

6) is not developed rules and calculation methods for assessing targets and benchmarks regarding the reuse and recycling of waste;

7) Do not created MEP structural unit on registration and maintenance of the public registry of business entities, “- said in the petition.

According to the authors, in addition, that the Ministry of the Environment does not fulfill a number of requirements, stipulated by the legislation of Ukraine, the Council of Europe and the European Union directives, some of which are listed above, the minister avoids meetings with community activists who offer concrete ways and projects to solve the existing problems. This behavior spoils the image of the Ukrainian government and the current government questioned the efficiency and transparency of the activities of the Ministry of Environment under the leadership of Mr. O.Semeraka.

“According to the current legislation of Ukraine, namely the Minister is responsible for the deficiencies in the activities of the Ministry of Environment. In connection with the above demand by the Prime Minister of Ukraine to appeal to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the submission of resignation from the post O.Semeraka Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine “, – stated in the petition.
