The contract price was agreement on terms of delivery FOB (of FOB) Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (Ara).

The upward price trend in the contract styrene market was supported by the increased raw material spot quotations on news of problems at plants in Europe.

Yesterday, spot quotations for December delivery were called to USD1 145 level per tonne FOB.

Despite this, one of the users involved in the market to contract negotiations noted that the increase in the amount of EUR170 per ton is too large, given the fact that in December, is likely to be observed decline “downstream” activity on the market.

As reported by the MRC, the November price of styrene monomer in Europe were agreed at the level of EUR1 025 per tonne FOB ARA, which is EUR40 per tonne higher than in October.

Styrene is the main raw materials for the production of polystyrene (PS).

According to the price review ICIS-MRC, polystyrene prices in the spot market in Russia showed an upward trend in November.
