Spot prices of polypropylene (PP) in Europe are at the bottom mark, compared with quotations in other world markets, leading to the expectation of reduction of imports in the coming weeks, on Monday told ICIS market sources.
In the European market spread PP prices it is large enough, and much negotiation depends on the seller and the buyer, as well as the grade of polypropylene.
In particular, some imported batch of molded brands propylene homopolymer (PP-homo) were sold at around EUR900 per tonne DDP (delivery and payment of fees), while some domestic brands of PP-homo were sold at the price of EUR1 020 per tonne and higher reported both buyers and sellers.
The big difference between the prices of the material, depending on the country of origin make imports into Europe less profitable, so some sellers said that they expect a decline of imports at the end of this year.
Some manufacturers continue to talk about the high demand in the market, and one even informed about the conduct of the negotiations in terms of sales in 2017. However, traders are not very active in the market, as many customers are waiting for discounts on the material at the end of the year, which will depend on the preliminary agreements on volumes of supplies.
Currently, the market still continues to get used to the idea of increasing the contract price of propylene at EUR30 per tonne in November, and many market sources, including customers expect PP prices in the current month.
According to the price review ICIS-MRC, the Russian market of PP last week of October it was fairly quiet for the most part, many market participants have already closed all its transactions for October deliveries even a week earlier. We started negotiations on November polypropylene supplies.
Demand on the part of certain sectors of the processing in the current month fell in November, it is expected to further decline in demand.
