The company Ineos Styrolution, “daughter” of large European producer of petrochemical products by Ineos, announced to customers in Europe to raise September prices for all brands of polystyrene (PS) at EUR20 per tonne, the company said.
The company retains the difference in the price of high-impact polystyrene (HIPS / M) in the above EUR90 per ton, compared with the price of general purpose polystyrene (PSS / M).
This styrene contract price for deliveries in September in Europe was agreed at the level of EUR1 035 per tonne, which is EUR20 per tonne lower than the previous month.
Trinseo Company (formerly Styron) also announced to raise September prices for all brands of PS in Europe at EUR25 per tonne.
In addition, Americas Styrenics (AmSty), the largest producer of polystyrene (PS) in the US, increased prices for all grade for September deliveries in the US for USD66 per metric ton.
After the news of the closure of the PS production in Antwerp company Styrolution at the beginning of last week, some market participants have started to worry about the supply of material in September. According to sources, some players began to buy additional volumes of SS.
According to the price review ICIS-MRC, polystyrene prices in the Russian market are reduced. According to market players, the Russian producers have gone on lowering prices amid high stock balance and lower the price of styrene monomer in September on the foreign markets. Prices of high-impact polystyrene grades accounted for 91 000-94 000 rub. per ton CPT, VAT included.
