The project “Construction of a new EPR plants” – the most important in the development program “Polymir” of JSC “Naftan” plant until 2020. The commissioning of the EP-200 will open up new opportunities for enterprise growth. Currently under purchase of works on development of project documentation. Implementation of the project will strengthen the petrochemical cluster, and the interaction of its elements – the plant for oil refining and petrochemical production – will increase the efficiency of operation of JSC “Naftan” in general. This integration of the EP-200 in the current production will take place with the developed infrastructure, qualified staff and expertise in operating similar facilities.

The basis of the project incorporated several tasks. Among them – the increase in hydrocarbon processing and increase the proportion of the output of target products (per tonne processed) from 40-43% to 48-50%. The total increase should amount to 300 thousand tons of products per year: 200 thousand tons of ethylene and 100,000 tons of propylene.

Increased production of ethylene will allow a maximum load capacity of the polymerization plants number 102 and 105, and significantly increase the production of high density polyethylene – one of an assortment of the most important headings “Polimir”. Approximately – 60 thousand tons per year. The resources self-propylene, ie without the need to purchase imported raw materials in amounts up to 10-12 thousand tons per year, will be provided by the production of NAC and acrylic fibers.

The project will increase the yield of desired products, to reduce the specific consumption of hydrocarbons and the specific energy consumption, which corresponds to the actual requirements of the Directive № 3 President of the Republic of Belarus “Economy and thrift – the main factors of economic security of the state”. Reduce the cost of raw materials used in the production of acrylonitrile and polyacrylonitrile fibers, the company will be able to improve competitiveness and these types of products.

Today annual production of ethylene on “Polymir” is about 130 thousand tons. The ongoing reconstruction of workshops polymerization number 105 and number 106 konfiktsionirovaniya production of “Polyethylene” will make it possible to achieve processing of ethylene only on the second line of LDPE to 128 thousand tons per year.
