Exports of ethylene from Japan to other world markets decreased by 45.4% in June this year compared to the same month last year – to 41.51 thousand tons, ICIS reported citing official data from the Ministry of Finance (MOF).
In June of the same year, this indicator was at the level of 76.01 tons.
At the same time, in comparison with May of 2018 (54.77 thousand tons), the June export of material from the country showed a decrease of 24.2%.
Ethylene is the main raw material for the production of polyethylene (PE).
According to the ScanPlast of the Market Report company, in Russia, based on the results of the first six months of this year, the estimated PE consumption amounted to 994.4 thousand tons, which is 10% more than the same indicator a year ago. The supplies for all types of polyethylene have grown.
