Czechs become responsible people and began to sort the trash and do not throw everything into one pot. People are increasingly using color trash containers installed in the streets. Separately – glass, paper, plastic, metal packages of beverage.
In 2015, the average Czech carried in such containers 42 kilograms of garbage, which is four times more than in 2000. Over the past 15 years a total of 8.3 million Czechs sorted tons of garbage, this amount is equal to the mountain Rip, is a national symbol of the country.
Czechs – one of the most responsible in this respect the peoples of the European Union. Czech Republic ranks sixth in the EU’s waste volume that people sort. And in the “plastic garbage” – even in second place.
Czechs are most active in special containers paper (they are filled up to 90%), followed by glass containers (75%), plastics (69%), metal (55%) and a package for beverages (22%).
In total, the Czech Republic 272 000 containers for sorted waste was established in 2015. The average distance from home to the Czech container – 97 meters, which is about 2 minutes light foot step. In 2000, the distance was more than 250 meters.
On one container in the Czech Republic account for 131 of its citizens, in some European countries, this figure is higher. According to numerous polls, already 72% of Czechs are sorted rubbish.
