November prices of low-pressure polyethylene pipes (HDPE) in the European market remained at the level of the previous month, buyers expect that quotations will remain stable throughout this month, ICIS reported several sources on the market.
Demand in the market remains good, and the offer is balanced, despite the forthcoming cold season.
Purchasing activity in the European market of tubular HDPE continues to remain stable, as with a strong European economy that supports infrastructure projects in many regions, buyers do not want to risk remaining without material volumes. And discounts at the end of the year also significantly affect the level of demand in the market.
Spot volumes of the material are currently used for the realization of less important objects, since they are offered in Europe with a significant discount from the initially announced levels. At the moment, spot volumes are not very large, and it is expected that market players will reduce their buying activity with the approach of winter.
Pipe brands of HDPE are widely used in the construction sector.
According to the Price Review of ICIS-MRC, last week the contractual prices of polyethylene (PE) for supplies in November were finally agreed. In the segment of high-pressure polyethylene (PVD), prices are down, in the segment of low-density polyethylene (HDPE), some producers managed to roll over prices in October.
