Players in the European polystyrene market (PS) agreed on April contracts for EUR190-220 per tonne against a background of a significant reduction in the monthly contract for the supply of styrene, ICIS reports citing sources in the market.
Several sources reported that consumer interest improved compared to March, because customers were left with a low supply of material, and now they need to buy polystyrene.
However, demand can not be called high, as people buy only as much as necessary, maybe a little more, but they do not increase their reserves, they added.
Customers do not want to buy a PS, which will be delivered in late May or early June, but are ready to buy a PS now for a reduced price.
As for imports, volumes are still rather limited.
The April negotiations on the price of the contract are still going on.
